Today, I Will Take Time to Be Present with Sally Clarkson and Kristen Kill.
We must understand God for what He really is to find a way forward. Seeing God for who he really is, a kind, gentle Father, one who takes children into his arms, the one who touched Elijah when he was weary and fed him, Jesus, the friend who roasted fish and built a roaring fire for the weary fishermen/disciples and encouraged them, will lead us to trust Him and to put our circumstances into His hands.
Jesus came into the world because the people of the world desperately needed hope, comfort, forgiveness, wisdom, and love.
I believe one part of helping our children to develop a moral imagination is by reading them great stories with characters who see themselves as part of a larger story. What our children spend decades imagining may just come to bear witness in their lives as adults.
God wants us to rest, to leave our burdens in His hands, to learn a little more every day, how to walk by faith, love and become more patient, work hard and enjoy our days that He has given.
How do we help our children to be drawn into a beautiful story rather than being lured away into a private world of screens, which are so prevalent in our society?
A storyformed life is a true to gift to a child. What role do great books play in shaping a child's perception of self, life, and even God?
If we want to reach the hearts of our children, we must model our parenting after the heart of God--to draw our children with an everlasting love--that we will always love them, no matter what.
Our testimony through the darkness is precious to God. We become humble because we realize we have no power, no strength of our own to be able to handle life or to stay alive in a healthy way apart from God's intervention--his help, strength, wisdom, provision, leading.
Love is the fuel that causes a baby to grow strong, love gives strength to the heart of a child learning true foundations of life, love carries teens through years of self-doubt to adulthood with the memory of having been cherished through mysterious years.
